When you read in Matthew and Luke about Jesus' temptation on the high mount when Satan says that if Jesus will worship him, he will give all the kingdoms of the world, you will notice that Jesus' answer to Satan is recorded differently in each account.
In Matthew's account, Jesus say, "Get thee hence, Satan... In the Luke account, he says, "Get thee behind me, Satan...
One of my favorite religion teachers at BYU, Chauncey Riddle, taught us to read the reply found in Luke this way, putting emphasis on the word "me": Get thee behind ME, Satan... In other words, Christ was telling Satan that no, I will not worship you, but you should worship me!
That's always the right answer for us. We want to be sure we always worship Jesus Christ!
Matthew's account also give a right answer for when we are being tempted by the devil--get thee hence, or in other words, get outta here!
