Watch a fun video, then discuss : Daily Bread--Are We Partaking of the Daily Bread the Lord Has Already Given Us????

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf shares a humorous parable of a man who realizes he has been living far beneath his privileges.

Matthew records:  Give us this day our daily bread... (Matt. 6:11)

Luke records it a little differently and his dissertation ends with a scripture that may give us a different idea about what these words mean:  Give us day by day our daily bread...If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:  how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?  (Luke 11:3, 13)

I'm sure there are lots of things we could say the daily bread is, but the spiritual daily bread would certainly include the companionship, comfort, inspiration, revelation, guidance and direction of the Holy Ghost.

This is where the video clip comes in.  As members of the church, our baptism and confirmation give us entrance into the Kingdom of God where we can enjoy an infinite number of privileges.  The Lord paid the price for our ticket, so to speak, and offers us abundant blessings while in mortality, and even more in the next life.  Here in mortality, almost all of the blessings come to us through the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Are we living up to our privileges?  Do we realize we are on a spiritual cruise ship with wonderful blessings available to us everyday?

Watch the video with your family, then talk about the daily bread the Lord offers you everyday of your lives!
